Biographical information
Dr. Jungeun Olivia Lee earned her Ph.D. in social welfare from the University of Washington, Seattle and completed her MSW at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She has been involved in several multidisciplinary panel studies including Young Women’s Health Study and NICHD Study of Early Child Care and Youth Development. She joined SSDP as a research scientist in 2009. Her field of expertise is the study of the impacts of inequalities (such as poverty) and marginalized socioeconomic positions on a range of developmental outcomes including education, mental health, and substance use problems, with particular focus on intergenerational mechanisms. She is also interested in quantitative methodology, particularly longitudinal analysis methods designed to examine developmental changes. She is currently serving on the board of directors for Refugee and Immigrant Family Center in Seattle.
She also loves to explore local coffee shops, bakeries, and sushi restaurants with her family and friends, whenever possible. She loves to practice Yoga and is a newly converted-novice snowboarder. She is also dreaming of traveling to every corner of the world.
