What will SSDP Particpants be asked to do?

During 2010, those SSDPers who agree to participate will be asked to do a short interview, a health assessment and to provide a small sample of saliva. Because genetic material is stored in all of the cells in the body, we will be able to get a sample of genetic information from cheek cells. Participants will spit a saliva sample into a tube. The tube will be sent to a lab where it will be analyzed. This will allow us to answer questions about how genes and life experiences work together to influence health.
